Sweet Thai Chili Dip brings a wonderful balance of sweet, tangy and heat to this simple Thai Chili Dip.
The sweetness comes from sugar, honey or molasses while the heat from red chili peppers. Some versions include garlic & vinegar with greater depth of flavour from onions and additional spices.
Ingredients
There aren’t a lot of ingredients to this recipe, and are generally readily available in most grocery stores.
- Sweet Thai Chili Sauce
- Pine Nuts
- Cream Cheese
- Mayonnaise
- Sour Cream
How to Make It
Add softened cream cheese, mayonnaise and sour cream to a medium sized mixing bowl. With an electric mixer, blend until smooth & well combined.
Spread evenly over a serving platter.
Spoon generous amounts of sweet Thai Chili sauce over the cream cheese base spreading evenly.
Sprinkle with toasted pine nuts & refrigerate until ready to serve.
Making Ahead
When making ahead, you can certainly prepare the cream cheese base and refrigerate one day ahead. Do not add the sweet Thai Chili sauce and toasted pine nuts until shortly before serving. Otherwise the sweet Thai chili sauce can be somewhat absorbed into the cream cheese base and cause a merged weird taste. If added too soon, the toasted pine nuts will absorb moisture from the sweet thai chili sauce and cream cheese and will become soggy.
What to Serve with Sweet Thai Chili Dip

There are a lot of different dippers to service with Sweet Thai Chilli Dip. Pictured here is sliced, toasted Naan bread.
Any type of dipper works, from sliced baguette to crackers, pita chips, toasted crostini or taco chips – scoops are the best as you can fill it with a generous amount of dip.
Leftovers
Sweet Thai Chili Dip isn’t the best leftover dip from a texture perspective as the pine will absorb some liquid from the sauce and cream cheese base. The flavour however, remains very tasty and is a great snack leftover for the next day. Refrigerate in a air tight container and enjoy!
